industrial partners in the consortium provide the capability to
eventually productize the results of the project as consumer products
and services for Europe. Particularly strong is the interest of the
market driven terminal providers to move beyond classical products to
home networks that balance the rights of the copyright owners, and the
users.
Content creation
industry interests are also present as SME companies working in
countries with the strongest commitment to advanced digital TV
deployment to address the content creation and tooling. These will
provide the consortium to these industries which are expected to exhibit
enormous growth as the HDTV technology is deployed and the channel
broadcast models are replaced by PVRs using object oriented content
distribution networks.
